3rd Sunday in Lent
Pastor Brad: 799-3671 / Pastor Ward: 998-1993
Jesus Calls You to Repentance. “Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3, 5). By this warning, the Lord would turn us away from wickedness and bring us to life in Himself. For He is patient with us, that we not be cut down in our sin but live and bear fruit in Him. As He lives, the Lord has “no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live” (Ezek. 33:11). So the Scriptures have been “written down for our instruction, on whom the end of the ages has come” (1 Cor. 10:11), that we should not desire evil but trust in Christ. He alone is faithful, the Rock who feeds us with His “spiritual food” and pours out His “spiritual drink” (1 Cor. 10:3–4).
The Sacrament of Holy Baptism Baptism is God's gift of acceptance and belonging. It is more of a message than a ceremony. In Baptism God says to every child: "Welcome to My Family! You belong! Your sins are forgiven!" To every parent God is saying: "This child being entrusted to you is My child. Remember that always, and raise him/her to know just who and whose they are!" This morning we welcome Owen Jordan Mudry Gudmundson, son of Tim & Andria Gudmundson. Owen’s Godparents are Curtis McRae & Elaina Koschik. May God bless Owen and his family and keep them ever close to His loving care.

LENT: Traditionally Lent has been a time to get spiritually fit. And what better time to be reminded of this while the Para Olympics are going on in Vancouver. The Olympics are a sporting competition of the fittest and most disciplined athletes in the world. During the weeks leading up to Easter we will take this time to become more spiritually fit and disciplined, by spending more time in God’s Word and in prayer. So please join us every Wednesday 'til the end of March for a series of messages relating the Olympic Games and what God has done for us through His Son Jesus Christ. This week’s topic: “Teamwork”, 7 PM.
Senior Confirmation Thursday at 5:30 PM.
55 Plus Group meets Thursday at 1 PM for Bible Study.

Thank you for your generosity toward the relief work of CLWR and its agencies following the earthquake in Haiti. Last we heard the amount donated exceeded $1 million. This will go a long way to bring about the reconstruction of lives and buildings. Now we are looking at the results of another, stronger earthquake coupled with a tsunami that has devastated lives and property in Chile. Again, our minds cannot possibly comprehend the heartbreak these people are suffering. If you can help, please go online to www.lutheranchurch.ca/donate and make a donation, or send a cheque to 3074 Portage Ave. Winnipeg, MB R3K 0Y2 marked “Chile Relief.”
